Chocolate Cherry Blast

If you use a chocolate protein powder in your daily smoothies, use that instead of the raw cacao powder in this recipe.


Yields

1 serving

Ingredients

1/2 ripe frozen banana

1 cup of frozen pitted cherries

11/2 cup of your favorite dairy free milk (almond, coconut, etc.)

2 cups of your favorite greens ( new to smoothies...try baby spinach)

1 tbsp raw cacao powder 

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 tablespoon almond butter

1 sliver of ginger

Directions

Place all ingredients in a high powered blender until a smooth consistency.  If you don't have a 

high powered blender, blend greens and milk first until smooth and then add the rest of your ingredients.

Cacao powder has a bitter taste but the fruit content should make it sweet enough.  You can try adding a few dates or 

a touch of honey if necessary.  Adding protein powder such as SunWarrior will not require additional sweetener.
